Responsibilities:
- Review and understand relevant requirement specifications & conventions
- Architect, design and implement the database layer in an n-tier application
- Database capacity planning
- Evaluate requirements for their relevancy to (and impact on) the databases
- Perform platform assessment regarding proper support for the selected databases
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in logical and physical database design and development
- Produce database-related deployment and operations documentation such as Deployment Plan, Installation Manual & Operations Manual
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of database design and data modeling techniques
- Ability to understand product requirements and translate the same into a good database design
- Experience troubleshooting and developing solutions to database problems in 24x7 production systems
- Must have in-depth knowledge of either Oracle or SQL Server
- Extensive PL/SQL programming experience
- Ability to see the big picture without being caught up in the details
- Ability to comfortably multitask (i.e., perform multiple architecture/design tasks concurrently)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight project schedules with little or no supervision
- BS/MS/BTech/MTech with 6+ years of experience
